Air Canada to suspend Halifax flights
Updated: Mar 09, 2012 08:41 AM
Direct flights between Halifax and Bermuda will stop on May 5 but should resume next year.
Air Canada spokesman Peter Fitzpatrick said yesterday that the flights should return to the schedule in February 2013.
“This route has always been seasonal, although this year we have shortened the season for commercial reasons,” he said.
“We are maintaining our daily, year-round Toronto-Bermuda flights.”
Air Canada flights 1249 and 1248 (to and from Halifax respectively) were often used by Bermuda students enrolled in colleges and universities in Nova Scotia, including Dalhousie University, Mount Saint Vincent University and St Mary’s University.
