Cruise ship diverts to land sick passenger

An elderly cruise ship passenger was brought to the Island for emergency hospital treatment last night.
The 78-year-old American woman was aboard the
Prinsendam which was making its way from Fort Lauderdale to Madeira when she reported abdominal pains.
A small vessel collected her in waters off St David’s at around 10pm last night.
She was taken to King Edward VII Memorial, where her injuries were said to be not life threatening.
