Crowds line Front St for Queen's Birthday Parade

Governor George Fergusson inspects the Bermuda Regiment at the Queen's Birthday Parade this morning.

Regiment guns rang out across Hamilton this morning to mark the official birthday of Her Majesty the Queen.Governor George Fergusson inspected the troops at a parade that featured the Regiment, Police and Sea Cadets, among others.The event also featured the Atholl Highlanders, a Scottish infantry regiment that is in the private employ of the Duke of Atholl, making it Europe's only legal private army.Dignitaries who watched the parade, which ended with a 21-gun salute, included Premier Paula Cox and Leader of the Opposition Craig Cannonier.Hordes of local residents and visitors also lined Front Street to watch the ceremony.For more pictures of the Parade click here
