Tourists treated in hospital after road collision

A Canadian woman and child had to be treated in hospital, following a road accident on Wednesday.According to police, the pair were riding a rental cycle when it collided with a truck at 5.10pm.The crash occurred on Middle Road in Smith’s, near the junction with Store Hill.The 37-year-old woman and her passenger, a ten-year-old girl, were later released from King Edward VII Memorial.Meanwhile, police have also called for residents to remain vigilant online, following reports of internet scammers soliciting money.Internet cheats have been targeting popular free e-mail sites such as Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo.Police warned locals to beware of sending money via wire transfers to individuals they do not know.
