The Marine Police have urged participants and spectators to “act as safely as possible” during tomorrow’s Round the Island boat race.A spokesman said: “If you plan to venture out on a boat, please make sure to have all necessary safety equipment and gear on board your vessel. Be mindful of the five-knot no wake zones, and also of swimmers who may be in the water.“We also ask that spectators both on land and in the water keep a safe distance from the racecourse to avoid interfering with the race or being struck. Please be aware that the Ferry Reach swing bridge will be closed to all marine traffic between 1:30pm and 3:30pm.”
