A sudden, torrential storm washed out Harbour Nights shortly after the event opened last night, sending visitors and vendors alike scrambling for cover. The hour-long cloudburst shortly after 7pm flooded sections of Front Street and turned other city thoroughfares into cataracts — but the Bermuda Weather Service recorded zero precipitation.“It’s bone dry here,” a spokesman said at the East End facility as the storm moved off. “It’s an impressive sight, but it appears to be hitting only the western part of the Island.”East End residents may have missed one impressive bout of “tank” rain, but the chance of showers will continue over the next few days, the service said.
