The Parents Teachers Association at Victor Scott Primary School has launched an International Book Giving Day to coincide with Valentine’s Day.The volunteer initiative is aimed at “increasing children’s access to and enthusiasm for books”.Participants worldwide will present books to children of all ages on February 14.The goal is to raise $20,000 to replenish book supplies at the school’s library.Donations can be made to the Victor Scott PTA and they can be dropped off at the school or by calling 705-0652 to arrange a visit from a PTA executive.Students will also be giving up a day of their midterm break to collect donations at the Hamilton MarketPlace and Shopping Centre on Valentine’s Day.
