Repeat visitor celebrates 100th birthday in Bermuda

Taking customer loyalty to a new level, repeat visitor Mary McBurney has made the Island her destination following her 100th birthday.The celebration also marked the Canadian retired teacher’s 21st trip to Bermuda.Ms McBurney’s family accompanied her.She’s visited Bermuda regularly since 1993 and stayed at Greenbank Guest Houses & Cottages in Paget.On this latest trip, Ms McBurney got to share some laughs with Tourism Minister Shawn Crockwell.“I thoroughly enjoyed my visit with Ms McBurney and thanked her for her loyalty to Bermuda,” Mr Crockwell said, calling her “a true ambassador, having brought more than 85 people with her to Bermuda during the years”.Ms McBurney spent her 100th birthday on December 18 in her hometown in Winnipeg, surrounded by family and friends.Seven family members travelled with her to the Island for this trip marking the occasion.
