Frith Hayward to lead Women’s Resource Centre
The Women’s Resource Centre will have a new executive director on April 1 with the appointment of Patrice Frith Hayward who will take up the post from Elaine Williams.Ms Frith Hayward has been with WRC as the Community Educator since October 2012 and was the catalyst behind the launch of the centre’s new self-esteem workshops.WRC co-chair Dr Janet Kemp noted the centre is “going through an important transition from a crisis response mode of services to a full scale ‘resource centre’ that supports and assists women with the many issues they confront”.Said Dr Kemp: “We are confident that Ms Frith Hayward will draw on her experience and knowledge to build on the achievements of our departing director Elaine Williams, and that we will all benefit from the many strengths that she brings to the role of executive director.”Ms Frith Hayward said she looks forward to assuming her new role. “I am excited to have the opportunity to be able to work in the area of my passion, which is the empowerment of women,” she said.She expressed enthusiasm about “encouraging personal and career growth” in her new role after leading several professional development courses. The Bermudian author and playwright has also written the novel ‘Island Sistahs’ and six Bermuda-based plays since 1990.
