Astronaut tweets photo of Bermuda from 200 miles above earth

Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, currently living in space aboard International Space Station as Commander of Expedition 35, took this picture of Bermuda this week from at least 200 miles above and the Island. The Space Station appears to have been orbiting to the north of the Island.

Bermuda joined a list of subjects Tweeted by the Canadian commander of the International Space Station, Chris Hadfield when he uploaded a photograph of the Island from space yesterday.The Tweet was posted with special greetings tagged to the Lavigne family who reside in Bermuda.The photograph was posted on Facebook and Google+ and to his countless followers on Twitter.Justin Lavigne is a friend of the Commander’s son Evan who visited Bermuda with his wife and stayed with the Lavignes while on vacation in Bermuda.A former RCAF fighter pilot and test pilot, Mr Hadfield made history when he became the first Canadian to walk in space.He is also the first Canadian to command the International Space Station when he arrived on board in December.His Twitter feed has become popular worldwide since then for its photos online depicting life in space and the Earth from above.The ISS is generally anywhere between 200 and 270 miles above the Earth.The link can be viewed on https://twitter.com/Cmdr Hadfield/status/32704764748984.
