Coalition for the Protection of Children launches Back to School Drive

The number of families needing help with school supplies and uniforms is “significantly higher than before the recession hit”, according to the Coalition for the Protection of Children.

Readying itself for the coming school year, the Coalition yesterday launched its 2013 Back to School Drive.

The group is calling for donations from individuals, families or companies in the form of school uniforms and shoes, lunch boxes, school bags and pencil cases, or store vouchers.

Volunteers are also needed for the Coalition's Breakfast for Every Child programme, which serves breakfasts for children in five schools.

The food programme runs from 7.30am to 8.30am on weekdays. Volunteers can e-mail nicola.cpc@logic.bm for details.
