Pair deny alleged cannabis plot

An alleged plot to import almost $10,000 worth of cannabis into Bermuda landed two people in Magistrates' Court today.

Jamal Woodley, 23, of St Georges, and Katelyn Simmons, 27, of Pembroke, both pleaded not guilty to allegations that they, with others not before the court, conspired to import $9,600 worth of cannabis into Bermuda.

Woodley was not represented, while Simmons is represented by Charles Richardson, who was not in court. The matter was adjourned until September 25.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner set bail for both defendants at $5,000 with one surety each.
