CARE Learning Centre holds annual tag day today
CARE Learning Centre will be holding their 13th annual tag day today on Thanksgiving Day, to raise funds for the school’s scholarship fund.
The school provides classes for senior secondary school students with both academic and social challenges to upgrade their skills by obtaining a high school diploma.
Taggers and students will be located throughout the City of Hamilton throughout the day.
The theme this year is ‘Thank You for Caring’ in celebration of 30 years of educating the community.
School director Neletha Butterfield said students have shown “tremendous progress this year”.
“We are pleased to note that they are settling down and getting on with their academic development.
“The Learning Centre is looking forward to the community’s support during these economic times,” she added.
“We cannot always build the future for our young, but we can build our youth for the future.”
As a result of the tag day last year, the school was able to offer more scholarships to senior school student both young adults and adults.
“We will be raising funds this year for new GED 2014 computerised programmes, scientific calculators and text books,” said Ms Butterfield.
“We are grateful for the support of both volunteers and the general public for their generous support to the tag day and look forward to the same response this year.”
Donations can also be made to the Bank of Butterfield — CARE Computer Services 20006-060-220230100 or mail to CARE Learning Centre, PO Box HM 2806, Hamilton HM LX.
