Concert for disaster relief

Typhoon Haiyan survivors walk in ruins in the village of Marabut, Philippines. The Philippines has received an outpouring of international aid running into hundreds of millions of dollars but much of it has been stuck in a bottleneck outside the affected areas.

Island musicians have banded together to put on a night of live entertainment for charity.

Funds raised from the Live BDA Philippines concert will be donated to fund disaster relief for the Asian nation, which was hit by a typhoon earlier this month.

More than 5,000 people were killed and hundreds are still missing after Typhoon Haiyan struck on November 8; the disaster sparked an international aid effort.

The concert, which will feature “Bermuda’s best entertainment talent”, will be held next Saturday, December 7 at Pier Six on Front Street starting at 10pm.

Tickets, costing $20, can be purchased at www.ptix.bm
