Live TV feed for boat parade

Bermuda CableVision subscribers will be able to watch the annual Christmas boat parade from the comfort of their own home this Saturday after CableVision announced they were launching a live 24-hour feed of Hamilton Harbour on Saturday.

Subscribers will be able to watch live views of Hamilton Harbour on channel 97 via a special camera installed on the rooftop of the ten-storey 141 Front Street building, owned by Sir John Swan.

And starting on December 8, the channel will also feature seasonal music.

Sir John said he was happy to partner with CableVision for the “initiative.”

“Bermudian residents will now have the ability to watch the activity in the harbour on their home televisions — with the service eventually being provided online,” he said. “With the boat parade and holidays fast approaching, the new channel will enable residents to enjoy the activities of the season.”

Terry Roberson, CableVision CEO, added: “We are very excited to provide new content to one of our existing basic channels, which will be available to all of Bermuda CableVision’s subscribers. Channel 97 will provide our customers with a view of the harbour and will give those who are unable to get out of their homes the ability to see the boat parade or fireworks from their living room. We thank Sir John Swan for partnering with us and for helping to make this channel possible.”
