BTC’s in a giving mood
Christmas came early for a handful of charities, courtesy of BTC.
The telecommunications company donated $12,000 to the six residents of Charities House — the Family Centre, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, PRIDE Bermuda, the Women’s Resource Centre, Age Concern and Bermuda Cricket Board.
“We recognise the enormous challenges that many in our community are facing today, and we wanted to find a way to touch a broad cross-section of the community,” said BTC CEO Eric Dobson. “There are many worthwhile charitable organisations in Bermuda, which makes the selection process difficult. Charities House is comprised of charitable bodies that assist families, seniors and aspiring athletes making them an ideal partner.”
Additional funds will be raised through an e-billing campaign next month and BTC staff have organised a food drive.
Said Martha Dismont of the Family Centre: “Although we help families throughout the calendar year, the holiday season is often a time that we are called upon to give a little more. Our partnership with BTC represents the perfect opportunity for family and community to come together.”
Charities House is located at 25 Point Finger Road, Paget.
