Mirrors to hold workshop

Kimberley Jackson

A free workshop to guide adults in their interaction with young people is on offer this weekend from the Mirrors Programme.

The youth development programme is holding classes at the Police Recreation Club in Prospect this Friday through Sunday.

The workshop is open to parents looking for positive ways to reach out to their children — as well as to coaches, youth workers and mentors.

Participants will explore “thought-provoking questions and concepts aimed at developing a clear outlook of what can be accomplished”, according to Mirrors coordinator Kimberley Jackson.

“The workshop benefits for participants are a renewed appreciation for self and what it means to be a parent or mentor. It will promote new ideas for working effectively with young people and developing confidence in producing improved results.”

Sessions will run from 6pm to 9pm on Friday, and from 9am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. Full attendance is required.

Attendees will be provided with workshop materials as well as a breakfast, lunch and dinner. To register, call 294-9291, or e-mail jvtodd@gov.bm.
