Berkeley students help children with reading classes

Berkeley Institute students will be reading to children at the fast food KFC eatery tomorrow as part of a collaborative literacy initiative.

Mr Jason Benevides, vice-president of KFC, sponsored eight of school’s students to visit universities and colleges in and around London, England last October.

And in return they agreed to give up their time to help children throughout February.

The sponsorship allowed the students to explore and gather data on the universities and colleges in preparation for their tertiary education journey.

The initiative will see students partner Bermuda National Library and the Ministry of Community, Culture and Sports in a project that will run every Saturday throughout the month.

Tomorrow’s first session will be between 9am to 11am.
