US flights disrupted by East Coast snow
Heavy snowfall across the US eastern seaboard affected Bermuda flight schedules to and from New York and Newark yesterday.
United’s incoming flight 1419 from Newark, New Jersey, which would have arrived around 3pm, was cancelled — along with the outgoing 3.55pm flight.
American Airlines’ 9.25am service from LF Wade International Airport to New York JFK was also cut — and the incoming flight which would have landed at 8.20pm was also called off.
Delta’s flight out of New York’s LaGuadia airport was also cancelled yesterday.
The storm sweeping across the East was expected to move on by last evening. Regional travel was been affected from Connecticut and New Jersey up through New England.
However, stormy weather in the UK did not affect the British Airways flight out of Bermuda which left last night on schedule.
BA spokeswoman Sallie Singleton said it was too early to say if the UK weather would impact today’s flight, adding: “But we anticipate our flights will be operating.”
Passengers are advised to contact BA by e-mail at ba.com for the latest up-to-date flight information.
A cold front will approach Bermuda later this week, bringing some showers, and a likelihood of “unsettled conditions” into the weekend, according to the Bermuda Weather Service.
