Home Affairs Minister Michael Fahy yesterday celebrated the success of a series of seminars aimed at supporting Bermuda’s vendors.

More than 130 people took part in the seminar series organised by the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation, which covered making money as a vendor, merchandising for success and identifying niches in the Bermuda market.

Sen Fahy yesterday praised the participants, particularly the 15 people who completed all three workshops, saying they have demonstrated their commitment and dedication to building their businesses.

“BEDC continues to see growth in this sector as many turn to vending as a way to make ends meet, while giving them the opportunity to take their first steps into entrepreneurship,” Sen Fahy said.

“The BEDC remains vigilant in its mandate to support vendors and the vendor markets through vendor training, market knowledge, as well as the provision of site materials.

“Micro-enterprise ventures are how many entrepreneurs get their start, thus BEDC will continue to provide support and guidance to entrepreneurs to help support their growth from micro-entrepreneurs to owners of bigger businesses.”
