Police find cannabis on houseboat
A man has been fined $1,800 for cannabis possession and cultivation after police raided his houseboat Seaweed and found two “immature” cannabis plants.
Robert Holman, 53, admitted in Magistrates’ Court this morning to possessing 0.5g of the drug, having paraphernalia intended for the drug’s misuse as well as cultivating cannabis plants.
Police boarded Holman’s houseboat, located near Duck Island, Pembroke on September 19 last year after acting on a tip, said prosecutor Maria Sofianos.
Aboard the boat they found the drug, along with scissors and two juvenile plants.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner fined Holman $800 for possession of the drug, $500 for possession of the scissors — which had cannabis resin on the blades, subsequent analysis showed — and $500 for possession of the two plants.
