Police have arrested a man in connection with a spree of burglaries in recent weeks.

The arrest was made yesterday afternoon in Pembroke. The suspect is currently in police custody and is expected to appear in court shortly.

Yesterday police said that nine break-ins were reported in the central parishes within 24 hours.

Despite the arrest, police are still advising residents to report suspicious activity.

And they issued a fresh warning after being tipped off about suspicious individuals calling on homes claiming to be Cablevision employees.

Residents are advised to verify the intentions of any unsolicited individuals on their property by contacting the relevant company, if one is mentioned.
