Man charged with smuggling cocaine

Magistrates' Court

A St George’s man has been charged with importing more than $10,000 worth of cocaine and ecstasy.

Fifty-nine year-old John Thompson, of Slip Road, is alleged to have imported 27 grams of cocaine and 55 grams of ecstasy on October 27 last year.

Mr Thompson denied all four charges, two of importation and two of being in possession of the drugs with the intent to supply.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released Mr Thompson on $10,000 bail with one surety.

He will appear for mention on April 17.
