City Walkway to be unveiled

Hamilton’s City Walkway of Fame will be unveiled at a ceremony on Thursday, with recognition given to the first six inductees.

A series of plaques has been placed on the east and west pavements along Court Street, honouring Hazel Christopher, Edith and Matilda Crawford, Stan (Lord Necktie) Seymour, Edwin Skinner and Hilary Soares.

Mr Seymour, the only living inductee, will be feted along with family and friends of the other candidates at 4pm in the City Hall foyer.

Information about each person, plus the Walkway itself, will go on display at the ceremony. It will also be attended by the Walkway’s organisers and its selection committee.
