A Devonshire man has denied sexually abusing a four-year-old girl.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is alleged to have used his position of trust or authority to touch the girl for sexual purposes on two occasions between May 1 and June 1, prosecutor Takiyah Burgess told Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded the man into custody.

He will be tried on October 13.
