Sports Minister Wayne Scott has praised Bermuda’s “very talented” Footy Force team for their victory at the World Futsal Championship.

The squad won the Silver Division in the under-15 age group at the tournament in Orlando, Florida, at the weekend.

“The team of very talented young players is to be commended for this accomplishment,” said Mr Scott, Minister of Community, Culture and Sports.

“Having finished fourth in Group A, the Bermuda team went on to defeat the Canadian Centurions team and they beat the Legends in the final match. Their determination certainly paved the way for their ultimate success, capturing the World Futsal Silver Division Cup.

“The team, coaches and administrative staff are to be commended for their bringing home the cup. I wish continued success to the Bermuda Futsal Federation.”
