Pair deny DUI offences

Two men have denied driving while impaired.

Steven Husbands, 28, and Galen Christopher, 37, appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Mr Husbands, of Smith’s, pleaded not guilty to driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs in Pembroke in the early hours of this morning.

He also pleaded not guilty to failing or refusing to comply with a police demand to give a breath sample for analysis on the same date.

Mr Christopher pleaded not guilty to driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs in Paget, also in the early hours of this morning.

He also denied refusing to give a breath sample.

Mr Husbands, who will appear for trial on March 6, was granted $1,500 bail by Senior Magistrate Juan Wolffe.

Mr Christopher was released on $2,000 with one like surety and will stand trial on February 23.
