An injured sailor was brought into Bermuda for hospital treatment over the weekend.
The 42-year-old Filipino suffered head injuries and a dislocated shoulder when he fell over on deck during heavy seas on board the CMB Mae.
The bulk carrier, which was on her way from Gibraltar to Philadelphia, diverted into Bermuda on Saturday at around 5.30pm.
The injured sailor was transferred on the pilot boat, St David, around five miles east of St George’s and brought into Ordnance Island.
He was then taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The CMB Mae continued on her way to the US, while the crewman has since left Bermuda bound for his homeland.
