The Bermuda Police Service have confirmed that there is no investigation under way in the case of the Bermuda stone that was moved from a government construction site on Black Watch Pass.
Michael DeSilva, the Commissioner of Police, said that there was a misunderstanding over whether the stone was removed with consent of the Ministry of Public Works and that a dishonest intention could not be proved to launch a charge of theft against the Criminal Code.
“Accordingly, and in the absence of a complaint from either the Ministry of Public Works or the contractor, there is no police investigation into this matter,” Mr DeSilva said.
