ADHT announces bake-off winners

A back-to-school bake-off held by the African Diaspora Heritage Trail (ADHT) Bermuda Foundation brought 11 bakers to the Green Lite Café & Eatery.

The event helped to support a children’s colouring book produced by the ADHT.

Cheryl Eve and five-year-old grandson Solomon Salaam won the family category, while Alice Bean and Myra Muhammad took the vegan category, and Tcherai Nu Kamara was judged the winner of the youth vegan category.

Ms Bean also came first in the health choice category, while Ms Muhammad won the cupcakes category with Chelsey Thomas and Michelle Weldon.

Ms Weldon took the prize in the cookies category, along with Angela Salini and Ashley Godek. Ms Muhammad, Ms Thomas and Pam Smith won for quick breads.

Ms Muhammad, Ms Thomas and Ms Weldon were tied for the people’s choice award, with Ms Muhammad declared winner and all three receiving prizes.
