Foundation seeks full-time manager

The St George’s Foundation is seeking a full-time general manager to oversee the daily running of its office, World Heritage Centre and Deliverance replica.

According to a press release, the addition will improve the group’s effectiveness in managing its core functions as a Bermuda registered charity and “vital cultural organisation”.

Board chairman Rick Spurling stated: “For the past two years, both our executive director and development director have been part-time roles. Amending the management position to full-time will support SGF strategically, by providing the capacity we need to balance and expand our budget and to maintain and enhance the cultural attractions and programmes we offer to visitors and the local community alike.

“The restructuring will also support SGF’s wider mission and instrumental work for culture and cultural tourism in St George’s and St David’s or ‘Hub 1’ of the National Tourism Plan.

“While SGF must sustain itself as a cultural non-profit, we believe we have an instrumental role to play, in collaboration with our many partners, to prioritise and execute the East End’s more immediate and longer-term cultural priorities.”

Executive director Charlotte Andrews is stepping away from her daily management responsibilities to spend more time with her young family and to focus on cultural and heritage priorities.

Dr Andrews said: “By focusing on the East End cultural projects that matter most, my hope is to be more impactful, better utilise my cultural expertise and the valuable resources SGF offers as a key platform and advocate for Bermuda’s culture and heritage.”
