CedarBridge boosts breast cancer awareness

CedarBridge Academy staff with their T-shirts supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month

CedarBridge Academy staff bought T-shirts as they kicked off October supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Each assembly at the school has discussed the impact of breast cancer on the lives of others, advising students how one out of eight women will contract breast cancer and the effects it has on families.

Teacher Duval Robinson spoke of the personal impact breast cancer had had on his immediate family, while students and advisers were shown photographs of people who have had some contact or relationship with CedarBridge Academy and had been affected by the illness.

Students have been invited to participate in the BF&M Breast Cancer Awareness Walk and Health Fair at Barr’s Park on October 21. The school will also offer its traditional breakfast, with teachers bringing baked goods and staff donating funds.
