A burglary suspect was detained yesterday morning after a brief struggle with police.

The 33-year-old Southampton man was arrested in connection with a spate of “confrontational burglaries” that have taken place at various locations around the island in the last week.

A full investigation into burglaries is now under way and a court appearance is expected in the near future.

Police are still appealing for anyone who may have any information on these burglaries to contact CID on 295-0011.
