A tanker en route from Texas to Quebec will drop a stricken crew member off in Bermuda tonight.

At 10.15am today, the Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre received a call from the 42810 GRT Motor Tanker ‘Laurentia Desgagnes’, reporting that a 59-year-old crew member on-board had suffered a possible stroke and was in need of medical attention.

Following medical advice from ashore, the vessel is diverting to Bermuda and will disembark the crew member via pilot boat at 1.30am tomorrow morning.

The Barbados-flagged vessel is then expected to resume its voyage to Canada.
