Little Venice employee, Randy Santelices, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries and died on Thursday evening.

The 31-year-old Filipino who lived on Timber Lane, Pembroke is believed to have lost control of his bike before ploughing into one of the city’s best known landmarks.

The Birdcage has since been dismantled.

A full investigation is under way and a Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to the family and friends.
