NeoApex, a home-grown film production team aimed at empowering young Bermudians, is to launch its own website later this month, the company has announced.

Its film Confession: The Power of Birth has won a Bermuda Society of Arts award, while Q the Architect – Life of a Soldier has been viewed more than 2,000 times on YouTube.

Created in 2015 by 21-year-old Dwayne Robinson with creative directors Raushan Darrell, Justin Cann and Reshay Trott, the team uses poetry, modelling and others arts to tackle social issues through online films.

Mr Darrell’s short film Moments was released on March 17, while Stranger of Mine by Mauricka Bradshaw-Edness, also known as TheSoulofMo, is to come out in late April.

So far, the company’s creations have been posted on Facebook and YouTube under “neopaex”, but the site www.neoapexproductions.com is scheduled to go live shortly.

In addition, the group runs a modelling agency, Apex Model Management.

The company’s goal is to “empower and motivate young Bermudians, while giving them a platform or voice to speak up about social issues”.
