Scouts celebrate annual jamboree
The Bermuda Scout Association celebrated its annual jamboree with a weekend camping on Paget Island.
Supervised by 16 leaders, 56 cubs, scouts and explorers between the ages of 7 to 16 took part in activities such as badge work and the Outward Bound course.
Sergeant Major Jeffrey Patterson, of the Royal Bermuda Regiment’s boat troop, also gave a speech, and the group had a tour of Fort Cunningham. Geoff Rothwell, the chief commissioner of scouts, said: “The camp is a great way to unite the scouting community.
“As we are divided by various locations and the difference in age groups, it is always a lot of fun to bring the boys as well as the leaders together.
“We had a great time on Paget Island and did not let Sunday’s wet weather dampen our spirits”.
