The Freisenbruch-Meyer Group has moved its offices temporarily to the Chubb building in the aftermath of this morning’s blaze.

While the insurer sustained smoke and water damage, there were no injures and all client data remains secure.

In accordance with its disaster recovery plan, the company has set up at its partner’s location in what was formerly the Ace Building.

Freisenbruch-Myer will be open from 9am tomorrow, maintaining regular hours from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

William Madeiros, executive vice-president, said the company extended “heartfelt thanks to those first responders at Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service who bravely battled the fire and worked long hours to extinguish it in the early hours of this morning”.

“Although authorities are still investigating the cause of the destructive blaze, we send our sincere sympathies to all those businesses affected. We understand that these are not just office buildings; these are our neighbours and friends and each make up an important part of Bermuda’s eclectic social, retail and business scene.”
