St George’s hotel plans put online

St. Regis Bermuda - Hotel Conceptual Rendering. Pier view to Fort St. Cathernie

Plans for the proposed St Regis Hotel in St George’s have been made available online at the Department of Planning website.

The plans, submitted to the department on August 1, detail the 122-key hotel which will overlook Gates Bay, along with proposed amenities including a casino, restaurant, back of house facilities and several residential condominium buildings.

The main hotel building would stand to the southwest of where Barry Road currently lies. However, the road itself would be moved further to the southwest so the hotel would stand between the beach and the road.

Public access to the beach — a point of concern for some in the St George’s community — is included in the plan.

If approved, the first phase of the development including the hotel itself would take three years to build. Later phases would include renovations of the St George’s golf course and the erection of the majority of the condominium units.
