Woman charged after fatal crash

A 66-year-old woman was charged yesterday with the fatal crash that took the life of Dennikia Lambert.

Appearing in Magistrates’ Court, Madeline Santucci was charged with causing the death of the 14-year-old by driving along Frog Lane, Devonshire, without due care and attention on July 27, the day before the Cup Match holiday.

She further stands accused of causing grievous bodily harm to a second victim, Charles Whited, on the same date.

Ms Lambert was a passenger in an SUV that collided with a motorcycle at the roundabout of Dock Hill, Frog Lane and Palmetto Road. Ms Santucci was not required to enter a plea as the matter must be heard by the Supreme Court. She remained silent throughout proceedings, only speaking to confirm her name.

She was released on $15,000 bail with a like surety and ordered to appear before the Supreme Court at the February arraignments session.
