Golden globe celebration of sailing nations
TAG Fine Arts and the Hamilton Princess are looking to celebrate the America’s Cup with a new exhibition highlighting the nations involved in the event.
The gallery has com- missioned new work by Ewan David Eason, who has received acclaim for his Mappa Mundi series which maps various cities across the world in brushed gold.
The commissioned collection will feature Bermuda along with the home cities of the six competing teams — Auckland, Lorient, Osaka, Portsmouth, San Francisco and Stockholm — with each work centred around the teams home bases. The exhibition is set to open at the gallery in April.
According to Mr Eason’s website, his work was has previously been featured in several prestigious institutions including the Barbican, Christie’s, as well as the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London.
Owner Alexander Green said: “The hotel is already well known for its art collection, and we are delighted to show seven new works by Ewan David Eason that celebrate the international spirit of this unique event.”
