Bermuda celebrates Women’s Day tomorrow
Bermuda will celebrate International Women’s Day with a one-mile walk through Hamilton tomorrow.
The “peaceful” event will start at City Hall at 12pm and end at Par-la-Ville car park, according to the Bermuda Women’s Day Facebook page.
A flyer added that a brown bag lunch will be available from Bulli Social for $10, with additional donations welcome, and proceeds will go to the Women’s Resource Centre. After the walk, there will be Zumba in Par-la-Ville park from 12.45pm to 1pm.
The events will be part of a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
The day, which has been observed since the early 1990s, also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
This year’s theme is #BeBoldForChange “to help forge a better working world — a more gender inclusive world”.
