Two Harvard a cappella groups will perform at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity next Tuesday to raise money for local charity Scars.

The appearance by Radcliffe Pitches and the Harvard Krokodiloes will mark the tenth year that groups from the US University have visited.

Bishop Nicholas Dill and US Consul General Mary Ellen Koenig are hosting the free event, which starts at noon.

“Both groups will perform classic ‘pitch perfect’ tunes to support Bermuda’s Scars charity, which will accept voluntary donations at the concert,” said a statement. “One hundred per cent of the donations will go to Scars, which aims to reduce the risk of child sexual abuse.”

Scars believes “that if by reducing the number of sexually molested children in our community, there will be a reduction in drug abuse, alcoholism, teenage pregnancies, mental illness, self-injurious behaviours, eating disorders, promiscuity, violence and suicide.”
