Homeless documentary to be shown this month

A controversial documentary focusing on Bermuda’s homeless will be shown at the Leopards’ Club later this month.

First presented in 2009, Out Among the Ins follows a lengthy article published recently in the RG Magazine.

It will be screened on Thursday, April 20 at 6pm in the club’s auditorium.

“The documentary was controversial when released for its content and remains so now that the homeless problem in Bermuda continues to be a sore thumb with many of them occupying Hamilton, being reviewed in Letters to the Editor and just last week was the main focus of The Gazette’s main magazine,” said a spokesperson.

“The Salvation Army has been invited to give an update on its plans and Mr Rodney Smith, who presented Bermuda’s first homeless report in 1993, will also give a short presentation.”

The Leopards Club Education Committee is led by former MP George Scott. Admission is $10.
