Beekeeper buzzes to rescue
A football team has thanked a kind-hearted beekeeper who agreed to remove a hive from their pitch free of charge.
Spencer Field stepped in when a large beehive formed near the changing room facilities of X-Roads Warriors FC in Flatts and began to interfere with children playing football.
Field offered to remove the hive for free so that the youngsters could get back to playing football.
The club’s vice-president Khomeini Talbot praised Field for his professional, kind and courteous manner.
“On behalf of X-Roads Warriors FC, I would like to thank Mr Field for removing the beehive at our home training grounds,” he said.
“This was an important step in keeping the facilities safe for the children and the neighbourhood at large. We are a community-based club and rely heavily on the support of kind people like Mr Field.”
