Woman angry over Lindo’s car incident
A woman whose car was damaged in a Warwick parking lot is calling on the person responsible to step forward.
Deborah Saunders said that her car was struck by another vehicle last Wednesday while she was shopping at Lindo’s, with CCTV footage allegedly showing the suspect driving away from the area.
“I’m willing to listen, but you don’t just leave the scene,” she said. “You don’t just leave. It’s not a small thing.”
Speaking this week, she said that she only discovered the damage after a bystander approached her about the incident.
“I came out after doing my shopping and a person was waiting for me in the parking lot to tell me someone had hit my car and left,” she said.
“Lindo’s staff searched the videos and found the footage, but you can’t make out the licence plate number.”
According to the footage, the collision took place between 2.05pm and 2.10pm, with Ms Saunders emerging from the store at around 2.30pm.
“I was prepared to wait and see if the person was going to come back to Lindo’s and say something,” she said. “Their car has to be damaged too.”
While she said she has filed a statement with the Bermuda Police Service, she called on the other driver to come forward and contact her at 234-1327.
Meanwhile, a police spokesman stated that the matter was being investigated, and any witnesses are asked to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.
