Man searches for good Samaritan

A man who lost his BlackBerry phone has launched a bid to track down a woman “Good Samaritan” who found it and tried unsuccessfully to contact him.

The man, who asked not to be named, said he hoped to not only get his phone back, but offer the lady with the phone a reward and a donation to the charity of her choice.

The man lost the phone somewhere between St John’s Church and the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club late afternoon on Tuesday.

He said the woman called a number on his phone to try and track down the owner.

She got through to a contact, who gave her the number for the man’s brother.

But his brother was at a doctor’s appointment and could not take the call.

The owner said he now feared the battery on the phone may have run out and the woman would not be able to contact him unless she has a BlackBerry charger.

He added: “Hopefully she will read this article in the paper.

“My phone is like a computer — it has 17,000 photographs on it and lots of information.

“Let’s say, ‘man with reward offer seeks Good Samaritan’.

I would like to give her a financial reward and to equal that amount for a charity of her choice.”

The man added the woman could contact him on 799-5445.
