A good Samaritan hopes a selfie shot in Scotland will help return a lost camera to a possible Bermudian owner.

Colin Grant said he found the camera at a bus stop in the village of Balloch, near Inverness, in the Scottish Highlands.

Mr Grant said the camera had more than 800 images on it — mostly of Bermuda.

He added: “There are many of the America’s Cup in 2015, plus there are a great many of cats — including a few of an SPCA event.”

The camera was found near the historic Culloden battlefield where, in 1746, Hanoverian forces loyal to the German-born protestant King George II defeated the largely Highland forces of the legitimate, but Catholic, heir to the throne Charles Edward Stuart.

Other images on the camera’s SIM card included shots taken in Paris and Edinburgh. Mr Grant, from Inverness-shire, contacted The Royal Gazette last week in a bid to track down the owner of the camera, which he found on Sunday, September 10.

He said: “I’m sure many of the pics will have great sentimental value.”

Mr Grant added there was only one clear self-shot photograph on the camera, but he said the number of pictures taken in Bermuda suggested that the woman lived on the island.

Mr Grant said: “The last few pictures show the lady walking down the hill from the battlefield site.”

“I have to admire her stamina. The walk from the battlefield to where the camera was found is quite a trek, and she obviously did this on foot.

“I am full of admiration.”
