A crash involving three cars on East Broadway slowed traffic to a crawl yesterday morning.

The accident, in the lane heading towards Hamilton, caused serious damage to a wall and all three vehicles.

A police spokesman said that emergency services were sent to the area at about 8.50am.

“Initial information suggests that three cars were being driven into the City of Hamilton when the collision occurred,” the spokesman said.

“There were no reported injuries. However, it is believed that the female driver of one of the cars involved was taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment relating to a pre-existing medical condition.”

Police are investigating the crash, and are urging anyone with information to call 295-0011.

At 9.30am, motorists continued to face congestion as the police dealt with the incident.

Motorists travelling into town through East Broadway were diverted into the eastbound lane by the entrance to the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.
