Countdown to World Triathlon Bermuda weekend
A clock to count down the days until the start of the MS Amlin World Triathlon Festival Weekend has been set up on Front Street.
Organisers said yesterday marked 60 days until the start of the event and the clock was a reminder for residents and visitors to get involved in the festivities.
The festival weekend will kick off with a triathlon-themed Harbour Nights Pasta Party at 7pm on April 26.
Athletes will be able to stock up on carbs before the race.
It will be the first Harbour Nights of the season and will celebrate 25 years of the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce open-air markets.
Front Street will be closed to traffic with sellers of food, local products and homemade crafts lining the sidewalks.
Harbour Nights will be held every Wednesday evening until August 29 after the first of the season.
The MS Amlin World Triathlon Bermuda, of which The Royal Gazette is a main sponsor, will be held in Bermuda on April 28.
The island is the second of eight stops on the World Triathlon Series circuit before the grand final in Australia.
Bermudian Flora Duffy, a world champion triathlete, will compete on home soil for the first time as an elite athlete.
